Editorial Notes

This site is an unofficial history archive about The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK), independent of the University’s official channels. It gathers both verified historical facts and campus anecdotes, is built as a static site with Markdown-rendered pages, and is continuously researched and expanded.

Format and Versioning

  • The site is divided into two main areas: the Reference Section (00–12) presents fact-based, verified history with a strong preference for primary sources, and no credibility badges are applied; the Unofficial History Section (13–16) carries a credibility marker on each article and juxtaposes multiple accounts. Additionally, sections 17–18, "Even Wilder," form a directory for low-credibility sources, organised by topic and displayed only as external links without narrative elaboration.
  • The cut-off date for data in each article is noted in its frontmatter and on the Data Timeliness page. Every claim is sourced and has undergone multiple rounds of cross-verification.
  • Unless otherwise stated, all university-wide figures refer to the main campus in Ma Liu Shui, Sha Tin, and do not include the independently operated The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen.

For specific research and revision records of individual articles, refer to the updated field in each article's frontmatter and the inline source citations.
